[opensuse-factory] Updating bind to 9.10?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi everyone, is there any reason (other than "lack of time" or "no one did it", why there is no package for bind's latest version 9.10 on the OBS (except for one arch package)? I had a look at the spec and suddenly decided, that I lack the skills to update the package. Too many patches doing whatever it is, etc. 9.10 has some features, that would come in handy, so I would appreciate if someone had time to update (or guide me through updating...). Thanks in advance. Regards, Johannes - -- I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely unintentional side effect. Thanks for the effort. Any thoughts on updating to 9.10.0-P2? I tried to build bind 9.10-P2, and finally succeeded (at least that's what I hope...). I just have to upload it to OBS, I just tested locally to be nice to the server.

And,
I have not tried the builds thoroughly, at least they compile. But since I do not know what most of the patches and additional sources do, I went for the 'delete what is not needed'-approach. I.e., everything that does not end in a compilation/building error when commented in the spec, was left out... Regards, Johannes - -- Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Sorry, I didn't had the time to pay more attention to your builds.

Some of them got merged or ISC installs locates the PID files in /run/named or /run/lwresd. Therefore I've dropped the pid file location patch. I've tried to explain this all in the package change log.
I.e., everything that does not end in a compilation/building error when commented in the spec, was left out...
Meanwhile I found the time and updated to 9.10.1. See https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:lmuelle:bind/ Feedback is welcome. I intend to forward this version to openSUSE Factory on Monday. And once again sorry for the quite late reply. :/ Cheers, Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team + SUSE Labs SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany
