[opensuse-factory] Install of leap behind a squid-proxy
Can someone tell me how to enable dhcp AND http_proxy during install/update of leap. I always install with dhcp, but we use a transparent proxy. If you add "manual=1" to the command line when you install, you should get straight into manual mode where you can specify it all. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.6°C) http://www.cloudsuisse.com/ - your owncloud, hosted in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I forgot, you can also specify the proxy details on the command line: https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Linuxrc -- Per Jessen, Zürich (1.3°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

however, if you want your squid to actually cache rpm files, you need to do some tuning, because the download.opensuse.org redirector redirects to different mirrors for the same file and zypper loads small chunks of those files from different mirrors by default. The easiest way to avoid that is to use install=http://SOMEMIRROR/ but then you depend on that mirror to have properly synched repos. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Do you have a squid.conf at hand with such tuning? Ciao, Michael.

squid.conf: maximum_object_size 204800 KB maximum_object_size_in_memory 800 KB cache_mem 128 MB cache_dir ufs /mnt/space/cache/squid/ 20000 16 256 refresh_pattern ^ftp: 1440 20% 10080 refresh_pattern ^gopher: 1440 0% 1440 refresh_pattern -i (/cgi-bin/|\?) 0 0% 0 refresh_pattern (content.*|Release|packages(.*.gz)*)$ 0 3% 2880 refresh_pattern descr/appdata 0 3% 1440 refresh_pattern \.rpm$ 20000 1900% 300000 refresh_pattern . 0 90% 30000 and I think, I added a http_access allow localnet above http_access allow localhost but to avoid the redirector and chunking of rpms, you can just boot your DVD/autoyast with install=http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/opensuse/factory/repo/oss/ or use that as repo in an existing install (or any other mirror close to you) Ciao Bernhard M. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
