Hi,
When submitting to Factory, my syslog-ng updates usually get accepted on the day of submission. Now submitted syslog-ng 4.0 to Leap 15.5 and a day later only a couple of automated tests happened. According to https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Roadmap#Schedule_for_openSUSE_Leap_15.5 the beta is near. Will it be accepted on time?
Reading the release schedule also reminded me about libevtlog: "Deadline for any package removals from Leap." It is in SLE 15 SP5 backports (https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/openSUSE:Backports:SLE-15-SP5/l...), but should be dropped. This package was developed originally as an independent library by syslog-ng developers, but only syslog-ng used it. So, a couple of years ago it was merged into syslog-ng. Syslog-ng is using the merged version. How can libevtlog be dropped from Leap 15.5?
And as a related question: can it also be dropped from Base:System? https://build.opensuse.org/package/users/Base:System/libevtlog Or someone is maintaining an older syslog-ng version which still requires it?

These older projects (SLES12?) will also have a copy of libevtlog, so they will not need to have it in Base:System.
But maybe it should be dropped from openSUSE:Factory first, then removed from Base:System?
You are maintainer of the package in Base:System, so you technically are able to delete it, you should not need anyone else to do that, but coordinating first is certainly a good idea ;-)
Best regards,
