I'd like to introduce the suggested addons to factory: Qore programming
language with its modules. Also I offer myself as a maintainer of these
The Qore programming language is a powerful, thread-capable, embeddable,
weakly-typed language with optional strong typing and procedural and
object-oriented features designed for anything from quick scripting to
complex multithreaded, network-aware application development to embedded
application scripting. Qore was initially designed to facilitate the
rapid implementation of sophisticated interfaces in embedded code in an
enterprise environment, and has since grown into a general-purpose
language as well.
- 3rd party and/or end users scripts and apps written in Qore can run
out of the box.
- Qore is used in enterprise applications. It can allow using of
openSUSE in this area.
- we have feedback from various educational institutes where is Qore
used for "concurrent programming" courses/lessons. It would open new
area for openSUSE
Currently it can be found in devel:languages:misc which would be a
"devel' project for it.
including Qore in main repo would allow to build proprietary dependent
parts in Packaman as well:
