[opensuse-factory] Experiences with Beta 1
I just installed Beta 1 (x86_64), and I must say I'm impressed! It feels faster than 10.3 overall, and especially zypper has finally become fast enough to outperform smart. Even most rough edges of KDE4 have been smoothened out. Kudos to the developers! But I also noticed the following two issues: 1) I can't drag-and-drop from the KDE4 desktop to Dolphin, e.g. when I download something with Firefox and it gets saved to ~/Desktop by default. That's sort of inconvenient. 2) I can't connect to my WPA-encrypted WIFI-network with NetworkManager in KDE4. The connection seems to time out. Apart from that, I'm very fond of Beta 1 already, and much looking forward to Beta 2! Yeah, libzypp/zypper is really kicking smart and apt asses ;-)

Please file a bug report at https://bugzilla.novell.com

openSUSE 11.0 alpha/beta versions include early NetworkManager 0.7 development versions along with KNetworkManager, which is far from perfect. -- Regards, Carlos Goncalves

Right. But WPA-PSK should work really well already. Regards, Helmut --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
