[opensuse-factory] factory to beta3 and other
Is there a simple way to upgrade from factory to beta3 and in the future to the final release? I'm not sure I always will want to live in factory land. Which lead to a more general question: Why don't we have a repository called SUSE-11, and have SL-OSS-factory as a symlink to it. So then we create SUSE-11.1 and change the link for SL-OSS-factory. That way: -you can choose one specific release to track the development, and once it is release you stay on it unless you change the repository -you can choose to follow factory and always leave on the edge. In that case set the repository to point to factory and be done with it. Currently the situation force you to change the repository when the release is made. If you forget you might end up with factory packages. Change the repositories from Factory to openSUSE 11.0 after release and then calling "zypper dup" should work. Zypper hackers can confirm if I am right. This would be great! I don't mind jumping later in the factory but I rather avoid the early alpha versions...
Currently the situation force you to change the repository when the release is made. If you forget you might end up with factory packages.

We want to avoid to have two distro, instead one which permanently changes. It increases the load on our build system and also to the mirrors, which need to sync twice as much data. In addition to that, pleople will take a 11.0 directory now as final release.
