Hello all!
Hi,
I'd like to ask you to participate in a following survey concerning Code Submit Reviews specifically changelog changes: https://www.surveymonkey.de/r/TVTBYTZ
let me ask directly, because I don't understand the text there much. How should I vote so that user story 2 (kernel maintenance) is followed? Neither.
This poll only illustrates the depth of the running misunderstanding between release management and developers. These two options are independent yet presented as exclusive in the survey. They don't really address the concerns raised. At least not when worded in this vague way. Thanks Michal
Thanks Miroslav
This survey is concerning package changelog in IBS. Example: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/openSUSE:Factory/bash/bash.chan...
**We (core team*) would like to implement one of (or combination) presented solutions in order to improve current Submit Review Process. This process currently requires process exceptions in specific cases concerning changelog changes.**
Here is list of identified use cases which helped us to form our two proposals https://paste.opensuse.org/76800949
*core team consisted of one or more representatives from following teams got a task to improve the situation: BuildOPS, SLE Rel-mgmt, LABS, Security, Certification, openSUSE reviewers, Future Technology, Customer Support, Quality Assurance, Maintenance team.

Hello Michal,
good point I thought that the combination was on option in surveymonkey. Let me check what went wrong.

According to docs https://help.surveymonkey.com/articles/en_US/kb/Multiple-Choice can allow you to choose only one question.
I've added option combination of both.
Please reach out to me in case you'd like to change your vote.
@Michal, just to note that each involved team, including Labs, had a dedicated representative who participated on the document.
Options were copy pasted as defined in the document. Task for every core member was to communicate back his team.

I did not vote for either because neither addresses my concerns.

The problem with the proposal is that it is vague and leaves much to interpretation and/or arbitrarily filling gaps latter. The problem with the policy is not that it is wrong. The problem is that it is not used as a guideline that can be overriden when there is a good reason but followed to the letter. Neither proposal is a solution when followed to the letter as written. Thanks Michal
