[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed last update yesterday - no workspace and no network
Hi, yesterday i did zypper dup, and today (next start) my laptop does not start the plasma-workspace, and very strange: network gets contact to the fritzbox but not to the internet. I choose icwm, an then tried some things but nothing worked. No connection neither with Lan nor wlan. Any hints or tips, normally i would do another zypper dup. I dont know where to search Daniel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Normally in this case the resolver does not work. Do you have entries at the end of /etc/resolv.conf You should have the IP address of the fritzbox there. -- fr.gr. member openSUSE Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

it was controlled by networkmanager, I set this manually now the question is why and which main kde/plasma component does not work now i can boot into plasma but I have no windowsdecoration, plasma- controllcenter does not start and the windowbar is missing. I can programs only start with Alt+F2. Alt+F1 eg does not work also Rightclick on the desktop. Are there any configs I can delet or reset? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
I found the solution in opensuse Forum: http://bit.ly/1NqhmR7 is it worth a bug or why has this happened that this config file has so big effect on the system including network? Daniel Am Mittwoch, 9. September 2015, 21:26:49 schrieb Daniel Fuhrmann:

I only had no background picture. I thought we're going to a gothic release. :-) Compared to your description I had network. By moving ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc away as described in https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/509579-Kde-5-4-plasma-shell-crash-after-upgrade-on-Tumbleweed?s=6a5eabf9d0d32bf51675a47a005b8311&p=2727103#post2727103 my system have a more colorful background again. I appreciate if you file a bugreport as this will give the KDE 5 guys a heads up if they're not yet aware of this issue. Feel free to add me to cc as I have a backup of the plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc file. I have also the old config file. The question is now: is it opensuse or kde5/plasma related i´ve found a few similar reports. Some are solved with removing plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc and some not. i will sent a copy to the kde list, maybe we get an reaction -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I would suggest opening a ticket upstream at bugs.kde.org with the faulty configuration. Post the link here once you do, I'll prod upstream to at least look and see if it's a generic issue or something openSUSE specific. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: A29D259B
