I think the first thing to do is to find how many clients are connected to the X server by the command "xlsclients|wc -l". Then you can find connected clients by "xlsclients" (and probably the culprit). I have found a possibly related bug[1] but I can not help you more on this, as I do not use KDE (and in my system at the moment "xlsclients|wc -l" returns 29). 293 here, 235 shouldn't be a big problem I guess. Maybe it is a setting somewhere in X which limits the number of clients (applications) you can have running... Have you googled the issue?
...............................
thank you very much for your help
best regards

Observation : with Akonadi killed, it is not possible to use Kontact's Calendar so . . . re-start Akonadi but, the moment Akonadi is started again, it becomes impossible to use Ksnapshot and the warning appears : Maximum number of clients reached : cannot connect to X server :0 .................... best regards Ellan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
