[opensuse-factory] updateTestcase filling /var/log
updateTestcase files are filling /var/log. They appear to be generated when "zypper ref;zypper dup" is ran. Is there some control over this generation or do I need to write a script to rm the files after a time? drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-07-11 12:09 updateTestcase-2009-07-11-12-09-35 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-07-11 14:03 updateTestcase-2009-07-11-14-02-57 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-07-11 16:04 updateTestcase-2009-07-11-16-04-05 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-07-11 17:26 updateTestcase-2009-07-11-17-26-39 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-07-11 17:26 . drwxr-xr-x 18 root root 12288 2009-07-11 17:41 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6001 2009-07-11 17:26 10903680-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 32299 2009-07-11 17:26 10903824-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14179 2009-07-11 17:26 12192384-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3828323 2009-07-11 17:26 12450496-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 654 2009-07-11 17:26 12450592-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8032 2009-07-11 17:26 7777424-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5764 2009-07-11 17:26 7779312-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3781368 2009-07-11 17:26 7785392-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 28661 2009-07-11 17:26 7920832-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3135 2009-07-11 17:26 8064768-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1804 2009-07-11 17:26 8078448-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3283 2009-07-11 17:26 8087712-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 151632 2009-07-11 17:26 8127120-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 21668 2009-07-11 17:26 8131712-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1471 2009-07-11 17:26 8250256-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2385 2009-07-11 17:26 8250640-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6344 2009-07-11 17:26 8278240-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 24331 2009-07-11 17:26 8279184-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6096 2009-07-11 17:26 8298800-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 38780 2009-07-11 17:26 8357776-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 46380 2009-07-11 17:26 8915184-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 506314 2009-07-11 17:26 8915760-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 126419 2009-07-11 17:26 8916640-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 242663 2009-07-11 17:26 8917696-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 54284 2009-07-11 17:26 8918752-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 23333 2009-07-11 17:26 8931456-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 249532 2009-07-11 17:26 9280496-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1229 2009-07-11 17:26 9608528-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 33495 2009-07-11 17:26 9613776-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12595 2009-07-11 17:26 9830480-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5597 2009-07-11 17:26 9832736-package.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 383730 2009-07-11 17:26 solver-system.xml.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 36840 2009-07-11 17:26 solver-test.xml solver-test.xml... <?xml version="1.0"?> <!-- testcase generated by YaST --> <test> <setup arch="x86_64"> <system file="solver-system.xml.gz"/> <!-- - alias : repo-non-oss - url : http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2/repo/non-oss/ - path : - type : yast2 - generated : 1969-12-31 19:00:00 - outdated : 1969-12-31 19:00:00 --> <channel file="7777424-package.xml.gz" name="repo-non-oss" priority="99" /> <!-- - alias : mozilla:beta - url : http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla:/beta/SUSE_Factory/ - path : - type : rpm-md - generated : 2009-07-06 23:22:17 - outdated : 1969-12-31 19:00:00 --> <channel file="7779312-package.xml.gz" name="mozilla:beta" priority="99" /> <!-- - alias : openSUSE:Factory - url : http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/ - path : - type : yast2 - generated : 1969-12-31 19:00:00 - outdated : 1969-12-31 19:00:00 --> <channel file="7785392-package.xml.gz" name="openSUSE:Factory" priority="99" /> ..... <keep channel="GNOME:Factory" kind="package" name="pulseaudio-utils" arch="i586" version="0.9.15" release="38.19" status="U__u_"/> <keep channel="GNOME:Factory" kind="package" name="libgtk-vnc-1_0-0" arch="i586" version="0.3.8" release="11.28" status="U__u_"/> <keep channel="GNOME:Factory" kind="package" name="gnome2-user-docs" arch="noarch" version="2.26.2" release="16.1" status="U__u_"/> <keep channel="GNOME:Factory" kind="srcpackage" name="epiphany-extensions" arch="noarch" version="2.26.1" release="27.28" status="U__u_"/> <keep channel="GNOME:Factory" kind="srcpackage" name="pulseaudio" arch="noarch" version="0.9.15" release="38.19" status="U__u_"/> <keep channel="GNOME:Factory" kind="srcpackage" name="gnome2-user-docs" arch="noarch" version="2.26.2" release="16.1" status="U__u_"/> .... <keep channel="repo-oss" kind="package" name="xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd" arch="x86_64" version="1.2.5_20090506_4be5f71" release="2.5" status="U__u_"/> <keep channel="repo-oss" kind="package" name="xpdf-poppler" arch="x86_64" version="3.02" release="2.2" status="U__u_"/> <addRequire name="glibc"/> </trial> </test> /> Reply

This is also irritating me, a new one appears for every dependency that needs resolving when zypper dup is used even if you cancel before the dup is actually performed. I suppose it needs a bug report if someone hasn't already made one.
Yes, it's annoying for Factory users. JFYI: libzypp 6.10.3 writes the updateTestcase only if you commit, no longer on each attempt. One of the next versions will also cleanup old testcases according to some config option that tells how many testcases to keep. -- cu, Michael Andres +------------------------------------------------------------------+ Key fingerprint = 2DFA 5D73 18B1 E7EF A862 27AC 3FB8 9E3A 27C6 B0E4 +------------------------------------------------------------------+ Michael Andres YaST Development ma@novell.com SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany, ++49 (0)911 - 740 53-0 +------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
