[opensuse-factory] Why did GwenView become the default file manager on my computer?
I notice the issue yesterday when mounting a USB hard-disk with the KDE panel's removable drive icon, and Gwenview launched instead of Dolphin. I have went into KDE settings to switch the default file manager to dolphin to no avail. Restarting again shows that Gwenview is once again selected as the default file manager. How do I force the system into using Dolphin as the default file manager again?

Correction. After further testing, I found out Gwenview is being reselected as the default file manager within the same session! Closing System Settings after selecting Dolphin as the default file manager does not work because re-opening the relevant settings page again shows Gwenview was once again chosen as the default application!

I've noticed that too. I managed to fix it selecting dolphin as default in systemsetting (the kde4 version). The selection is then mirrored in systemsettings5 (the new version). I don't think is a feature, though ... Fra -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Today, I also saw this issue on a fresh TW installation. I solved it by right- click a folder in dolphin, select properties and change the file type association...Gwenview was the first one in the list and I moved Dolphin up to pole position :-). Here's another workaround that was posted on the KDE mailing list yesterday: "This is a known issue, see here: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2016-02/msg00474.html. The way you set the default back to Dolphin is not by selecting the radio button for Dolphin in Default Applications > File Manager (it switches right back to the wrong default on my machine) but going to File Associations > innode > directory and moving Dolphin to the top of the list. That will fix it. I also had it open up folders with gwenview5 as well as Dolphin - Super User Mode. Try that and see if it fixes the issue. Thank you. That solved the issue for me. Though it seems to have made the Default Applications section redundant. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

How do I force the system into using Dolphin as the default file manager again? This has been debated since last week, you'll need to search the threads for a work around solution.
