[opensuse-factory] Factory broken
Hi, There are various problems shown on https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/overview?distri=opensuse&version=FTT The most prominent is the btrfs crash on i586 filed as https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=887046 But there are various others - not affecting the staging prjs for some unclear reason. One reason for this is that kernel on i586 is less stable, but we have no resources to stage also i586. Another bug is seen at - the upgrade path is now broken for a while ;( https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/11570/modules/upgrade_select/steps/5 So don't wonder why there are no factory updates... Greetings, Stephan -- Ma muaß weiterkämpfen, kämpfen bis zum Umfalln, a wenn die ganze Welt an Arsch offen hat, oder grad deswegn. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

What is "ETA"? We don't understand you. Have you heard anything of Netiquette?
ETA = Estimated Time of Arrival https://www.google.com/search?q=acronyms+eta&oq=acronyms+eta He is requesting a date that Factory will be functional. There is no "Netiquette" problem here but rather unclear understanding :^) -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I've found another answers: http://www.acronymfinder.com/ETA.html No chance, as you can see.

Generally, we are not Ehglish speaking people. openSUSE is international. So, no "unclear understanding".
He is requesting a date that Factory will be functional.
The Factory is functional at the moment. Running Factory myself. % cat /etc/os-release NAME=openSUSE VERSION="20140626 (Harlequin)" VERSION_ID="20140626" PRETTY_NAME="openSUSE 20140626 (Harlequin) (x86_64)" ID=opensuse ANSI_COLOR="0;32" CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:opensuse:opensuse:20140626" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.opensuse.org" HOME_URL="https://opensuse.org/" ID_LIKE="suse" -- WBR Kyrill
Factory (the distribution) is functional and working
Factory (the project, which includes staging, FTT, etc) is broken, and
updates to the distribution are blocked until the issues in Staging
are fixed
Stephans links are what anyone should need to get started helping fix
the broken packages so we can get Factory moving forward again

https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/11570/modules/upgrade_select/steps/5
Does this clear up the current situation?

Generally, you *have* an attitude problem, at least in this particular case. While not all are "Ehglish" speaking including myself, English is the common denominator and since *you* did not understand ETA and couldn't be bothered to google it before commenting, there is/was an "unclear understanding".
He is requesting a date that Factory will be functional.
The Factory is functional at the moment.
According to Stephan, it is *not*.
Running Factory myself.
As am I but updates *are* broken/not-there You get what you give! -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

There would be "netiquette" involved, at least as far as this mail list is concerned, if I was to say to you, "Dypak" - but I won't so there is no "netiquette" involved, right?
Generally, we are not Ehglish speaking people.
So what are you doing on this English oS Help mail list?
openSUSE is international. So, no "unclear understanding".
Quite clear to anyone who understands English.
He is requesting a date that Factory will be functional. The Factory is functional at the moment.
Factory is NOT functional. Read the post by Stephan to which I was responding.
Running Factory myself.

Please! You should be more understanding. This is an international mail list, using English as a language of convenience. It is not a British mail list, nor a North American mail list, nor an Australian mail list. It is not a national mail list of any country. There are many people here with different degrees of understanding of the English language, and many of them will have dificulties understanding some of the slang and acronyms, even if others have not dificulties with them. Even if they are very common to you. So please be nice, and when somebody doesn't understand, just explain. :-) And conversely, when somebody doesn't understand an expression, just ask. :-) Let's keep it nice. - -- Cheers Carlos E. R. Thank you, Papa. All naughty-type people will now stand in the corner for 1/2 hour, OK?
