Re: [RESOLVED] Re: [opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed Network without kWalet?
did you intentionally respond off-list? If not, feel free to forward my reply to to the mailinglist ;-)
my apologies, i saw opensuse and went for what i thought was the list!
/etc/resolve.conf # Generated by NetworkManager
with nothing else in it. I have *no idea* how this came about, I certainly didn't meddle at the networking file level because it's all over my head to begin with.
That sounds like a NetworkManager bug Tumbleweed had some months ago. However, I wonder why you hit this now - it's fixed since quite a while (IIRC you need to manually fix or delete resolv.conf once if you were affected - but I wonder why it took so long until you noticed this).
If it's fixed than I sdon't understand why it was still there, my install had most updates applied. I had installed that TW but had so many freakin' plasma5 issues with it that it went on the back burner. It's stil there BTW but i just went at it for a short while to see if it had improved (not even close).
Feel free to open a feature request ;-)
how, where?
It might help to ask for a "details..." button because displaying all the error messages by default could be considered scary for average users. Also note that people like you and me probably don't count as average users ;-)
i din't mean error messages but the config files, and as a general hardwired design principle in all realms say, up comes dialog X, on the input placard: "This dialog X reads and on demand edits file /path/xyz.conf" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
