I don't get to see the splash during boot because I have it disabled, but the grub appearance and KDE login screen look pretty slick.

I also like the new grub artwork, but the new splash is too wild for my taste. It works on my nerves.

Same here. And KDE Plasma greeter looks even nicer (old glow was out of style, IMHO) and now it's really cool!
