Hey Group;
No one offered a idea on how to fix libreoffice scalc. So I found it source.rpm I installed it a guess what is working - SCALC. RPM -e in a script removed the defective one. I am not sure that I understand it. What have you actually removed? An older LO version or LO at all?
I am not able to reproduce the cut&paste problems with the last build from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/LibreOffice:/Unstable/ project.
Best Regards, Petr Thanks Petr for looking into this problem
Well I upgraded from 11.4 6 to RC1 and LibreOffice is still screwed up. I pulled up scalc on RC1 and it will not even allow any input from a working (right here now) keyboard and mouse. I didn't even try cut and paste on RC1. Also not I pulled down from the source and installed after removing openSuSE's version of LibreOffice and Sun's worked just fine. I used vi and rpm -qa | grep Libre to remove it.
This is a i586 NET system load problem. What is your system? i586 or x86-64? from the NET or DVD
I did a fresh installation of openSUSE-11.4rc1-x86_64 from DVD.
It seems to me that so much of the NET load i586 programs do not work. May be the same with a DVD
Like permission was not set correctly on /usr/bin/Xorg and many audio related /dev/. Xorg was set so that a user could not use it. Here now Blender hangs and kill -9 gets it.
Hmm, it looks like your whole system is somehow screwed up. Do you remember when you noticed all these problems? Was it after the update from 11.4-m6 to RC1 or was it after the update to 11.4-m6? What was the original system that you updated to 11.4-m6? It think that it might be a bad luck or too complicated update scenario. I think that it is not a common problem. Otherwise, much more people would report non-working systems. BTW: Sun's OOo has its own copy of many system libraries. Also it does not have KDE4 integration. So it is less affected by a broken system. It might be the reason why it works. Do you know how many times and in how many different ways I have told Donn he has a broken system, but he hasn't took notice. Too many things misbehave on his x86 box that do not on mine (one x86 and 4 x86_64 including 3 with openSUSE 11.4 RC1, 1 with Kubuntu 11.04 Alpha2 + Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha2 on Beagleboard ARM) or on anyone else's on the planet, so as the saying goes, go figure.
