[opensuse-factory] FATE#311297 - Get rid of SuSEconfig.groff has been implemented
Hi all, I sent the groff-1.21 update together with SUSEConfig.groff removal as requested by FATE#311297 [1]. That means the value /etc/papersize will no longer be rewritten on change of RC_LC_PAPER in /etc/sysconfig/language. This makes UPDATE_GROFF_CONF and GROFF_PAGESIZE variables in /etc/sysconfig/suseconfig pointless, which is not a problem as they are now obsoleted, so removal is just a next step. Users wants to have a letter as default papersize for groff would just type echo "letter" > /etc/papersize For details, please consult man 5 groff_font and 'papersize string' definition. [1] https://features.opensuse.org/311297 Regards Michal Vyskocil

Thnaks for the info. It would help, if you (= the so-called stakeholders) would provide a release notes snippet in the future. In this case, I already entered preliminary release notes data ;) In fate, just click "Editor", then "Release Notes". I do not know whether this is also possible using the Web UI... -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Ok, not that well done. The RichText editor inserts artificial line-breaks when you apply inline tags such as <tt>. See FATE#311297. -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

What about not installing that file at all anymore and make groff decide paper size based on locale ($LC_PAPER) instead? cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.de/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I like your idea - so it's now FATE#312586 - I hope I will finish it until 12.1 will be released. [1] https://features.opensuse.org/312586 Regards Michal Vyskocil
