Hi *, with pleasure, I would like to announce, that Blender 2.80 is about to be ready for shipping in Factory. Based on the great work of Dave Plater, I put some effort into the build in order to adhere to the build options, that constitute official Blender builds as well. So here comes the caveat: it depends on a couple of new libraries, that are all Open Source, thankfully, but not available in official openSUSE projects, yet. Hence, I've SR'ed alembic, embree, OpenSubdiv and openvdb to the graphics project. If some kind soul would check and finally accept them, *and* I can make Dave happy with my SR to blender, we would be prepared to ship Blender 2.80 in Factory rather soonish. I think, that Blender is a really great project, and acts as a flagship for Open Source at its best. Let's be the first distribution, that ships a feature complete 2.80.
