Installing the nvidia driver should fix it, or run kontact with "LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 kontact" (see http://www.mesa3d.org/envvars.html).

Kontact comes up with this, but clicking Mail or launching LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 kmail ends up in empty widgets, KMail doesn't work with this option for me. It seems that just Kalendar works from kontact in this configuration. Is there any other way than leaving nouveau again?
