I'm having a few issues understanding this kwallet. I works fine on one of my logins, kmail opens it silently and gets what it needs. But on this login a kmail account will randomly ask for access to kwallet even though i've said "allow always". What is the difference between "kwalletd" and "kwalletd5" ? "kwalletd5" is running from the outset but "kwalletd" only loads and runs when i access kmail (or for some reason chromium or opera), as soon as it asks for acccess, "kwalletd" is the one doing the work (according to "System Activity")
I'm guessing a bit but I would say , as kdepim is still kde4based, its still using the kwalletd from kde4 and all apps which are KF5 based are using the new kwalletd5, which is the one loaded at login? I think you are correct, kwalletd5 is loaded at login and kwalletd appears when i launch kmail. I'm only using kmail, a browser and libreoffice . I've not done any migration as its a new user. My kmail has 2 accounts it checks, and it alternately asks for the kwallet password for each account but only asks for one each new login session.
Could it be that the migration went wrong as I do not have the same issue. I don;t have this issue on my old user login which has quite a few email accounts etc configured in kwallet. it just seems related to this new user. i think i'll have to delete the current config and start again adding to kwallet.
Thx
