Apparently, 12.1 has added /var/tmp/ to TMP_DIRS_TO_CLEAR in /etc/sysconfig/cron. I was quite surprised when I found out today that I've lost a few GB of data, which used to be safe there.
Needless to say that I'm not pleased. No backups, because it wasn't *that* important, but I find such changes without warning suboptimal, to put it politely.
The Filesystem Hierarchy Standard stipulates that the OS must not delete files in /var/tmp on boot, so if this were the case you would be right. However, I can't see that this is the case on my system. The default setting is /tmp only, and I can't immediately see anything in YaST that would add /var/tmp to it Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
