They are considering going open source with their client, and it looks extremely likely they will. This could be an opportunity to push OBS and if we act fast we could take advantage of being the first distro to offer it in a repo in RPM format. Maybe some useful code too.
OK, so how do we do this? Who approaches the Desura guys as an openSUSE Community rep and explains the OBS... how it's a huge advantage for them etc etc... and how do we position openSUSE as the first distro with full repository support for Desura?
If we say, leave it to them.. it may never happen. If we get together on this, we can maybe make something interesting happen. I think it'd be great if we were the first to partner with Desura for distribution...Desura has the potential for be a real driving factor for Linux adoption.
C. Agreed. Though so far the games I have DL'd don't work... but, thats what bug- reports are for. Well, I am an ambassador so I can approach them. Of course I could have done that anyway... but wanted the feedback of the devs and other code-ninjas. -- Roger Luedecke openSUSE Ambassador Ind.
