zypper used to have better error handling in cases like that. It just kept going while this message was shown, so that unattended updates work. Perhaps this code was removed, perhaps this code got broken, perhaps zypper just got old and doesn't bother anymore with all the crap thats going on. You will only find out by filing a bug, or ask someone who knows... Olaf
