We had an issue with pam-config earlier this week that was fixed with pam-config --add --systemd
I have filed the bug here. https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=986537 I don't have a /var/log/messages nor do I have a .xsessions:0 file in my home folder. But if you need any additional info, I will be glad to provide it.
