RAIDs created with yast should have a write-intent bitmap attached so that resyncs go by much faster. If you manually created them, they may be lacking that if you did not specify one.
hmm, I thought I had added the bitmap, but apparently not :( I've now added one using mdadm --grow --bitmap=internal /dev/md0 Will see how that changes the behaviour once the current resync has finished... Cheers. l8er manfred
