Hello Ralf and Michael.

Moving 2.3 source out of openldap2 package sounds like a very good idea to me.
And thanks very much for putting work into maintaining openldap2 Michael.

If Peter agrees then we may consider to remove 2.3 libraries entirely.

Kind regards,
Howard

Ok, but it could still be moved to separate package/spec file, right? That's a
pretty easy thing to do and I guess we don't really need those compat packages
for Factory/Tumbleweed anyway. If I understood correctly, Michael would be
willing spend more time on maintaining the OpenLDAP packages for openSUSE
without those ancient bits. Are you ok with removing the 2.3 bits in
network:ldap?
