Hi, everyone! I'm using openSUSE Leap 15.1. Although the gnome-shell-search-provider-contacts package is installed, I was not able to search contacts right from GNOME Shell. Also, going into GNOME Settings > Search, Contacts was not listed as an option. Comparing the Leap 15.1 [1] and the Tumbleweed [2] versions of that same package, I realized that a file is missing on Leap 15.1: /usr/share/gnome-shell/search-providers/org.gnome.Contacts.search-provider.ini Its contents: ✂---------------------------------------- [Shell Search Provider] DesktopId=org.gnome.Contacts.desktop BusName=org.gnome.Contacts.SearchProvider ObjectPath=/org/gnome/Contacts/SearchProvider Version=2 ✂---------------------------------------- I downloaded the latest Tumbleweed GNOME Live and the GNOME Contacts Search Provider works on it out-of-the-box. Back to my PC with Leap 15.1, I created that file myself as root. Now, Contacts appear enabled as an option on GNOME Settings > Search. Nevertheless, searching for a contact using GNOME Shell still doesn't work. What intrigues me is that file seems to be present on the GNOME sources for 3.26. [3] Was that file deleted on purpose for Leap 15.1? Is it expected that GNOME Contacts Search Provider does not work on Leap 15.1 with GNOME 3.26 anyway? If it should work, I think we have a bug here. I haven't touched Leap 15.2 yet, but looking at the sources, I believe the situation is the same. [4] Thank you for your attention!
