There's the other problem that Mesa will not work when the proprietary nvidia driver is installed (because nvidia replaces some libraries, libglx and libGL in particular, with its own incompatible versions, so not even Mesa's software OpenGL renderer will work.
don't know for libGL, but for libglx one can use update-alternatives to switch between the nouveau and the nvidia implementation.
You don't really need u-a. Place all the nvidia system libraries into a separate directory (/usr/lib/nvidia or what) and prioritize it via ld.so.conf. For the Xorg plugins, there is already a dedicated directory one can use, /usr/lib/xorg/extensions/updates. That way, nvidia does not collide with Mesa, yet both can be installed at the same time (to satisfy rpm's solver). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
