Have you reported the bug to openSUSE¹ and KDE²?

Not yet. But I think I found the reason why my system freezes when trying to shut down:

In System Settings/Session/Session Restore I had the option "When session was manually saved" active. After I switched this to "Start with an empty session" the system shuts down without problems.

If somebody can confirm this behaviour I would open a bug report. But before trying it save your work, just on case your system freezes, too.

Oliver

Also, I think that for general discussion and workaround solutions, the forum³ is a better place to go. It's better readable and better ranked by search engines reaching a wider public.

Thanks, I found this tipp on the net already. But making this change
after every update is not an option for me. And after all, "Shutdown"
from the C-A-D screen freezes my system now, no idea why. Worked
perfectly up to 20240621. So it's better to find a way to also disable
the Shutdown option as I was used to simply C-A-D in the evening and 30
seconds later the system did a shutdown. Now it freezes and I have to
switch it off and on in the morning...

Looks like it is time to take a look at Gnome and Ubuntu after 25 years
with KDE...
