For the completeness, what is the git commit of the failing kernel? You can find it in the rpm -qi kernel-default output of the kernel.
Arjen de Korte has already identified the cause of my issue. The kernel installed due the fact I had enabled an additional kernel stable repository, switch my kernel to be 4.17.2-3 (sorry I don't remind the commit).
I revert back to official stock TW kernel and everything back to work normally.
Well, that is not really "problem solved". You should understand that Kernel:stable is where next "official stock TW kernel" comes from. So unless you want to encounter the same problem again in a week or two, you should cooperate in identifying the problem.
Right. And the changes from ddde22d indicate only about my backport for ACPICA fix and packaging fix, so if any, it might be the former one that matters. But it's an important fix for other regressions, so this can't be reverted back again. Or it's something with the new gcc or such...
In anyway, Marco, please open the bug report if the problem is persistent.
thanks,
Takashi
Takashi, I'm using a Lenovo Z470 laptop (not a G470 as I wrote before) and would be interesting to know if there are other people faced my same problems when running the newest kernel. In case of new occurrence, I will open a bug report. Regards, -- Marco Calistri
