I ran into the same issue with a Lenovo Thinkpad 410, iwlagn driver says: Detected Intel Wireless WiFi Link 6000 Series 3x3 AGN REV=0x74
getting the most recent firmware from http://intellinuxwireless.org/?n=Downloads seems to have helped, maybe this cures your issue as well ?
