PS, I am aware that occasionally I use CAPS in my posts. I do that for emphasis, not for yelling. I have seen perfectly valid posts poo-poo'd primarily by proponents of the opposite opinion (and often without, or incapbable of a, better response) because there were caps used by the poster. Caps are a valid punctuation. If the entire post is all caps then that might be construed as shouting, but captilizing words or phrases should be construed as emphasis and should not subject the poster to ridicule. IMO
You may intend caps as punctuation, but the consensus is that capitalization in email means shouting, and will be interpreted as shouting even if you do not agree. A human language works by majority consensus, you can not change it on your own to your liking.
Very well, I may occasionally SHOUT a word for emphasis. Maybe it will be heard over all of the BS some of the people trying to ram crap down our collective throats throw at us when we say work on KDE4, just don't prematurely kill KDE3 in the distribution. FWIW, It is interesting that I have been typing since the pre model 40 TTY machines which could only type in all caps and transferred information in baudot codes rather than ASCII or EBCDIC or other computer codes. I will also note that as predicted, the only responses to the messages related to punctuation, not content. No wonder openSuSE is in so much disarray, it is more important to be pretty than to work.
