I downloaded the DVD and burned with K3b. When the DVD install failed I downloaded the Network install and burned same. When that failed I burned the 6/13 to DVD with K3b. I guess if the media is defective it might be a K3b issue? I did rewrite the DVD. Perhaps I'll try on a new DVD and see if it works. I tried a new install of TW yesterday on a Thinkpad T61 with 4G memory replacing a windows 10 install.
I tried the 11/16 DVD and Network installs and neither worked. Since neither of them worked I tried the 20180613 DVD. Didn't work.
The install of all the above seems to work normally until the selection for the type of install: KDE, GNOME, server, etc. At that point the hd spins a bit and then all comes to an abrupt end -- the system hangs.
Is this a known issue that will be resolved soon? Certainly does not provide a good user experience for someone looking at TW as an option.
Thanks for any info.
This looks like an improperly created install medium. Which and how did you create it?
