Any init replacement for a "professional" "polished" distro like suse should _start_ with a mode in which it behaves exactly like current init so that it can be dropped into an existing system without breaking anything, and admins can set up new systems using existing working recipes without problems or unpleasant surprise factor.
Unlike another well known distro that I tried in June, openSUSE contributors have actually adjusted OpenVPN (and more) before even thinking to unleash systemd by default in a release. And thanks to the efforts of Frederic, Kay, AJ, and others it's looking increasingly better and there are months left to fix any outstanding issues.

It's still true, and a core value our distros provide! For that reason, if you have any concrete issues, we'd love to learn about them in Bugzilla.
