So yes, the DVD installation does not boot because the xen package is missing but the kernel-xen package is installed.
Even worse is that kernel-xen is the only kernel package on the DVD while the remainder of xen is missing. Since I have no idea what needs to happen now and not even know where to report bugs about it I'm pretty much stuck already.

the Version number would be incorrect, so I'd recommend any bugs filed about the 'next version of the distro' should be tagged with [openSUSE 42] in the Summary field for now
Sorry to say but to a normal - as in "sane" :-) - user who accesses this list, this whole thing is beginning to look and sound like a Chinese opera. Or, to literally translate a Russian saying, "Some into the forest , some for firewood...." (Andrei would know exactly what I am saying) as I think it now applies to the development of openSUSE. In English I think that the closest meaning to the Russian saying is, "Helter skelter". (I just clicked, for example, on the URL above just to see what I would see and, firstly, had to get redirected to some other "site" as the URL "has been moved" and, secondly, was asked to provide a login name and password.) Could we, the normal users, be assured that openSUSE will continue to be made available and FUNCTION as well (latest version being 13.2) as we, the normal users, have been accustomed to over the past many, many years? So far the discussion in this list re the future of openSUSE in whatever form, including in the form of Tumbleweed (especially), does not promote positiveness about what may be expected.
