I am seeing the same behavior as Robert, and also using G05 (for a 1080 Ti).

Cannot boot using the kernel suffixed with -2, but -1 still works.

Seeing the same errors about libbfd in the log. The error might be misleading, because the library itself seems to be present in the system:

$ rpm -qf /usr/lib64/libbfd-2.35.0.20200915-1.so
binutils-2.35-1.1.x86_64

FWIW, I'm seeing the same trying to update to the current Tumbleweed and
kernel-5.9.1-2-default. Booting with kernel-5.9.1-1-default still works,
though. I have the NVidia G05 drivers installed from the NVidia openSUSE
Tumbleweed repository and see that compile error in /var/log/zypp/history.
