Oh, many of us objected, but were ignored. In fact, look at Christian's reaction to Stefan's bug report -- no comment needed, denial at its best.
Even though I don't agree with Cristian completely regarding systemd and journal, I have to defend him here: * he does care for bug reports. * he does fix stuff.
That hasn't been my experience. Any bug or problem I've submitted and he'd commented on he's told me is my problem and it's no longer supported. His attitude sucks for someone who is working inside Suse. The whole attitude of developers like him is that distro's are there to support *them* -- and customers are on their own.
About "those who are doing the work decide": the problem is, that now the ones trying to keep sysvinit alive are actively combatted by the systemd proponents by removing all the init scripts so that they have to fork the whole distribution and not just maintain a single package.
---- Yup.... had to replace all of them -- went back to 11.3 sources on several -- including sysVinit. The deliberate laying of traps and working to destroy compatibility are acts of deliberate malice. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
