Hi there,
we seem to have got this wpa_supplicant 2.4 which exposes a nasty bug..
http://www.webinf.com/lists/shmoo.com/hostap/3/19761.html
there is another dicussion on ml
http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2015-05/msg01063.html
which in principle claim it was solved... mine stopped working on 4th of August.
I have built wpa 2.2 and magic all worked
Until all the world fixes their AP can we have wpa 2.2 along wpa 2.4
in the factory?
I see Leap is preparing to ship 2.2 so I hope I do not get a lecture
on security and other related niceties.

==== NetworkManager ====
Version update (1.0.2 -> 1.0.4)
Subpackages: NetworkManager-devel libnm-glib-vpn1 libnm-glib4 libnm-util2 libnm0 typelib-1_0-NM-1_0 typelib-1_0-NMClient-1_0 typelib-1_0-NetworkManager-1_0
- Toggle with_cacert_patch to 1: the patch has been rebased.
- Change nfs dispatcher-script to be more reliable in mixed ip v4
v6 environments.
- Rebase nm-probe-radius-server-cert.patch for 1.0.4 (bsc#938198).
- Add explicit pkgconfig(udev) BuildRequires: we need it to define
%{_udevdir}.
- Update to version 1.0.4:
+ The MTU setting from an IPv6 neighbor discovery Router
Advertisements is now ignored if applying it would result in
invalid configuration.
+ Some configuration options can now be changed without
restarting the daemon. Notably, this applies to 'dns',
'connectivity' and 'ignore-carrier' settings.
+ The connection activation was made more robust. If an active
connection is reactivated, the device it's active on takes
precedence. If an attempt is made to activate a connection on a
different device than it is active on, the activation proceeds
removing the connection from the active device.
+ The device specifiers in configuration files now support
negation via 'except:' match.
+ Devices that only have IPv6 link-local address are no longer
assumed to be connected.
+ nmcli now provides hints and tab-completion for enumeration
properties.
+ If the IPv6 interface tokens are set they are honored when
creating an interface identifier for IPv6 addressing.
+ NetworkManager now maintains correct routing configuration when
multiple interfaces are connected to the same network.
+ The management of devices can now be controlled with udev
rules. The veth devices as well as the virtual Ethernet devices
of various virtualization tools (VMWare, VirtualBox, Parallels
Workstation) are now ignored by default.
+ The IPv6 privacy extensions are now enabled by default and
handling of the ip6-privacy sysctl has been improved.
+ Activating a Bond, Bridge or Team device can now optionally
activate the slave connections as well. The behavior is
controlled with 'connection.autoconnect-slaves' property.
+ The platform support code has been refactored, resulting in
better scalability in large configurations.
+ Changes to network interfaces configuration done outside
NetworkManager are now picked up and exposed to the user via
NetworkManager API and tools.
+ A connection can now optionally leave externally configured
default route in place instead of overriding it. The behavior
is controlled with 'ipv4.never-default' and
'ipv6.never-default' properties.
+ Multiple crasher and memory leak bugs in the daemon were fixed.
+ Multiple bugs that could cause the client tools to hang or
crash were fixed.
+ nmcli allows multiple devices for 'nmcli device
disconnect/delete'.
+ Firewall zone is added to firewalld for device-based VPN
connections too.
- Toggle with_cacert_patch to 0: the Radius CA patch neeeds to be
reworked. Wrap applying the patch into a with_cacert_patch
condition, to make enabling/disabling a one-stop change.
==== NetworkManager-gnome ====
Version update (1.0.2 -> 1.0.4)
Subpackages: libnm-gtk0 typelib-1_0-NMGtk-1_0
- Toggle with_cacert_patch to 1: the patch has been rebased.
- Update to version 1.0.4:
+ Setting MTU for a bond device is now supported.
+ Connecting to a wireless network from the NetworkManager applet
no longer results in an attempt to create system-wide
connections. This fixes the ability to connect to a wireless
network for non-privileged user.
+ The master interface name is used instead of master connection
UUID for slave connections created with nm-connection-editor.
This fixes compatibility of the ifcfg configuration files with
the legacy network service.
+ It is now possible to specify an interface name instead of a
MAC address when editing a connection using
nm-connection-editor.
+ The WWAN connections now have IPv6 enabled by default.
+ libnm-gtk includes functions for password storage selection,
which eases implementation of password GUI for VPN plugins and
other users.
- Rebase nm-applet-probe-radius-server-cert.patch and
nm-applet-probe-radius-server-cert.patch.
- Toggle with_cacert_patch to 0: the cacert patch is currently
disabled in NetworkManager (boo#938198).

==== autofs ====
Version update (5.1.0 -> 5.1.1)
- autofs.service: Use KillMode=mixed so "KillSignal" (SIGTERM) is

==== bluez ====
Version update (5.32 -> 5.33)
Subpackages: bluez-cups bluez-devel libbluetooth3
- update to version 5.33:
This release contains mostly bugfixes, particularly in areas such
as the audio plugin, GATT and OBEX. The main feature additions
are in the the emulator code which received improvelents to LE
features. There?s also a new tool for testing the recently
released Eddystone protocol from Google.
==== coreutils ====
Version update (8.23 -> 8.24)
- Sync I18N patch from semi-official repository (shared among
distributions, maintained by Padraig Brady):
https://github.com/pixelb/coreutils/tree/i18n
* coreutils-i18n.patch: Improve cut(1) performance in field-mode
in UTF8 locales. Squash in sort-keycompare-mb.patch.
* sort-keycompare-mb.patch: Remove.
- coreutils-build-timeout-as-pie.patch: Refresh.
- Update to 8.24:
* * Bug fixes
* dd supports more robust SIGINFO/SIGUSR1 handling for outputting statistics.
Previously those signals may have inadvertently terminated the process.
* df --local no longer hangs with inaccessible remote mounts.
[bug introduced in coreutils-8.21]
* du now silently ignores all directory cycles due to bind mounts.
Previously it would issue a warning and exit with a failure status.
[bug introduced in coreutils-8.1 and partially fixed in coreutils-8.23]
* chroot again calls chroot(DIR) and chdir("/"), even if DIR is "/".
This handles separate bind mounted "/" trees, and environments
depending on the implicit chdir("/").
[bugs introduced in coreutils-8.23]
* cp no longer issues an incorrect warning about directory hardlinks when a
source directory is specified multiple times. Now, consistent with other
file types, a warning is issued for source directories with duplicate names,
or with -H the directory is copied again using the symlink name.
* factor avoids writing partial lines, thus supporting parallel operation.
[the bug dates back to the initial implementation]
* head, od, split, tac, tail, and wc no longer mishandle input from files in
/proc and /sys file systems that report somewhat-incorrect file sizes.
* mkdir --parents -Z now correctly sets the context for the last component,
even if the parent directory exists and has a different default context.
[bug introduced with the -Z restorecon functionality in coreutils-8.22]
* numfmt no longer outputs incorrect overflowed values seen with certain
large numbers, or with numbers with increased precision.
[bug introduced when numfmt was added in coreutils-8.21]
* numfmt now handles leading zeros correctly, not counting them when
settings processing limits, and making them optional with floating point.
[bug introduced when numfmt was added in coreutils-8.21]
* paste no longer truncates output for large input files. This would happen
for example with files larger than 4GiB on 32 bit systems with a '\n'
character at the 4GiB position.
[the bug dates back to the initial implementation]
* rm indicates the correct number of arguments in its confirmation prompt,
on all platforms. [bug introduced in coreutils-8.22]
* shuf -i with a single redundant operand, would crash instead of issuing
a diagnostic. [bug introduced in coreutils-8.22]
* tail releases inotify resources when unused. Previously it could exhaust
resources with many files, or with -F if files were replaced many times.
[bug introduced in coreutils-7.5]
* tail -f again follows changes to a file after it's renamed.
[bug introduced in coreutils-7.5]
* tail --follow no longer misses changes to files if those files were
replaced before inotify watches were created.
[bug introduced in coreutils-7.5]
* tail --follow consistently outputs all data for a truncated file.
[bug introduced in the beginning]
* tail --follow=name correctly outputs headers for multiple files
when those files are being created or renamed.
[bug introduced in coreutils-7.5]
* * New features
* chroot accepts the new --skip-chdir option to not change the working directory
to "/" after changing into the chroot(2) jail, thus retaining the current wor-
king directory. The new option is only permitted if the new root directory is
the old "/", and therefore is useful with the --group and --userspec options.
* dd accepts a new status=progress level to print data transfer statistics
on stderr approximately every second.
* numfmt can now process multiple fields with field range specifications similar
to cut, and supports setting the output precision with the --format option.
* split accepts a new --separator option to select a record separator character
other than the default newline character.
* stty allows setting the "extproc" option where supported, which is
a useful setting with high latency links.
* sync no longer ignores arguments, and syncs each specified file, or with the
- -file-system option, the file systems associated with each specified file.
* tee accepts a new --output-error option to control operation with pipes
and output errors in general.
* * Changes in behavior
* df no longer suppresses separate exports of the same remote device, as
these are generally explicitly mounted. The --total option does still
suppress duplicate remote file systems.
[suppression was introduced in coreutils-8.21]
* mv no longer supports moving a file to a hardlink, instead issuing an error.
The implementation was susceptible to races in the presence of multiple mv
instances, which could result in both hardlinks being deleted. Also on case
insensitive file systems like HFS, mv would just remove a hardlinked 'file'
if called like `mv file File`. The feature was added in coreutils-5.0.1.
* numfmt --from-unit and --to-unit options now interpret suffixes as SI units,
and IEC (power of 2) units are now specified by appending 'i'.
* tee will exit early if there are no more writable outputs.
* tee does not treat the file operand '-' as meaning standard output any longer,
for better conformance to POSIX. This feature was added in coreutils-5.3.0.
* timeout --foreground no longer sends SIGCONT to the monitored process,
which was seen to cause intermittent issues with GDB for example.
* * Improvements
* cp,install,mv will convert smaller runs of NULs in the input to holes,
and cp --sparse=always avoids speculative preallocation on XFS for example.
* cp will read sparse files more efficiently when the destination is a
non regular file. For example when copying a disk image to a device node.
* mv will try a reflink before falling back to a standard copy, which is
more efficient when moving files across BTRFS subvolume boundaries.
* stat and tail now know about IBRIX. stat -f --format=%T now reports the file
system type, and tail -f uses polling for files on IBRIX file systems.
* wc -l processes short lines much more efficiently.
* References from --help and the man pages of utilities have been corrected
in various cases, and more direct links to the corresponding online
documentation are provided.

- For SLE11, the KMP is still required; the .spec file logic is
now only enabled in the linked package, the 2nd spec file must

==== info ====
Version update (5.2 -> 6.0)
Subpackages: makeinfo
- The package texinfo now requires makeinfo of the same version
to make sure that the correct Texinfo.pm is installed
- libzio is able to handle lz(ma) and xz files as well
- Update to 6.0
* Language:
+ new commands @sub and @sup, for textual subscripts and
superscripts.
+ new command @U to insert a Unicode character by code point.
* texinfo.tex:
+ @url/@uref output in PDF now the same as in DVI, showing the
url even if the second argument is given, not just as a link
target. TeX option \urefurlonlylinktrue gives previous
behavior, of invisible urls.
+ PDF-only \linkcolor and \urlcolor specify colors (default
black).
* texi2any:
+ customization variable TOP_NODE_UP_URL now replaces all (dir)
references; recommended setting for GNU packages is /manual/.
+ new customization variable INDEX_SPECIAL_CHARS_WARNING to
complain when index entries contain a colon.
+ Docbook output no longer uses <lineannotation> for @r.
+ -D'var val' on the command line works as intended again.
+ --plaintext output can be split.
+ a bit faster.
* info:
+ invoking as `info foo bar' looks for bar as an index entry
in manual foo, if not found as a top-level menu item.
+ invoking info with an absolute or explicitly relative file
name (./foo.info, /tmp/foo.info, etc.) just visits that file.
+ separate `infokey' program has been removed - the .infokey
file is now read directly by Info.
+ new option --init-file allows overriding ~/.infokey.
+ new variable `highlight-searches' allows highlighting
results from a search
+ support for mouse scrollwheel, controlled by `mouse'
variable.
+ new variable `key_time' to control how long to wait for
byte sequences sent by special keys.
+ new variable `hide-note-references' alters appearance of
displayed nodes
+ new variable `infopath-no-defaults' allows omitting the
compile-time Info directory from the Info search path.
+ support input of multibyte characters for searches in
a UTF-8 locale.
+ if reading an Info file that is known to be in a different
character encoding to that of the user's environment,
convert its contents when displayed and substitute
missing characters
+ new command M-x info-version.
+ the M-x kill-node command has been removed.
+ test suite at build time.
* texindex:
+ completely new implementation as a literate program using
Texinfo and (portable) awk (called TexiWeb Jr.).
+ the -o (--output) is not supported, unless we hear of
someone using it.
+ duplicated sort keys with different display texts result
in one merged index entry, using the first display text.
+ better sorting and parsing in unusual cases; most
notably, { and } characters can appear as initials.
* install-info:
+ handle compressed input file names containing spaces.
+ exit successfully if --remove is given and the dir file
does not exist.
+ new option --defsection, to be used instead of
"Miscellaneous" when a section is not present in the Info
file.
* texi2dvi:
+ look for the environment variable THUMBPDF_CMD instead of
THUMBPDF, since thumbpdf itself has used THUMBPDF for options
since 2000.
+ remove --recode and --recode-from options, since they haven't
worked as intended for years, so evidently no one needs them.
- refresh texinfo-zlib.patch
==== tigervnc ====

Hi,
the USB Dockingstation Manufacturer DisplayLink has provided a driver for Linux. Officially they only support Ubuntu [1], but provide instructions on how to modify the package for other Distros [2].
1: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu.php
2: http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/679060
For openSUSE 13.2 I had to modify the install script a little bit. The below patch should be enough to install it on openSUSE. At least it compiles the libraries and the opensource part of the driver. I've got it to work with the below mods. Although the fonts were screwed up some when the driver was active.

At the end of every "zypper dup -l", it takes ages to complete the process
after the last package has been installed. Anyone know what it is doing and
should it put up a progress indicator to show its doing something? I've been
very close to pressing "ctrl-c" a few times thinking its hung up.
thanks

[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - Review of the Week 2015/33
by Dominique Leuenberger / DimStar 21 Aug '15
by Dominique Leuenberger / DimStar 21 Aug '15
21 Aug '15
Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
Since my last weekly report, we have released 'only' three snapshots.
Some days there were just no stagings ready to be accepted... and if
there is nothing to accept, there won't be a new snapshot.
The notable updates we had in tumbleweed during this week were:
* Mesa 10.6.4, which brings GL specific fixes
* Various yast modules (unfortunately, not yet the module causing the
crashes)
* Kernel 4.1.5 (with 4.1.6 already checked in; will be the next
snapshot to be released, likely over the weekend)
Outlook for the next week, and status of last weeks 'promises':
* systemd 224: this was moved to the backlog again, so that we could at
least get some other things through staging (e.g. glibc 2.22). The test
that ran so far failed on encrypted disks. At least, all build fails
caused by system should be solved by now, and those are all in TW
already, so the next staging with system is presumably to be much
smaller / self contained.
* As mentioned above: kernel 4.1.6 will be shipped to you
* libQt 5.5 is pending a yast fix (Yast needs to be adjusted to build
properly)
* KDE Application 15.07.90 has some build fallouts that need to be
analysed.. and openQA failures (See
https://build.opensuse.org/project/staging_projects/openSUSE:Factory/D
) Most notably, it seems the devel prj is already built against Qt 5.5;
so the libqt 5.5 mentioned before must enter Tumbleweed first (to not
invalidate the devel projects tests done).
* a doxygen update to 1.8.10 is planned. We have seen some silly build
fails in packages using expr 1.8.4 \< $VERSION; this works fine until
1.8.9, but expr uses mathematical rules (as stupid as it is, 1.8.4 is
no valid 'mathematical expression as such). So it compares actually
1.8.4 with 1.8.1, and fails. Ring packages are fixed. You might be hit
by similar things in other packages.
* Perl 5.22 is not moving at all. Please lend your hands to things in
need of attention here. See
https://build.opensuse.org/project/staging_projects/openSUSE:Factory/B
Have a lot of fun,
Dominique

==== dnsmasq ====
Version update (2.72 -> 2.75)
- Update to 2.75, announce message:
Fix reversion on 2.74 which caused 100% CPU use when a
dhcp-script is configured. Thanks to Adrian Davey for
reporting the bug and testing the fix.
- Update to 2.74, announce message:
Fix reversion in 2.73 where --conf-file would attempt to
read the default file, rather than no file.
Fix inotify code to handle dangling symlinks better and
not SEGV in some circumstances.
DNSSEC fix. In the case of a signed CNAME generated by a
wildcard which pointed to an unsigned domain, the wrong
status would be logged, and some necessary checks omitted.
- Update to 2.73, announce message:
Fix crash at startup when an empty suffix is supplied to
- -conf-dir, also trivial memory leak. Thanks to
Tomas Hozza for spotting this.
Remove floor of 4096 on advertised EDNS0 packet size when
DNSSEC in use, the original rationale for this has long gone.
Thanks to Anders Kaseorg for spotting this.
Use inotify for checking on updates to /etc/resolv.conf and
friends under Linux. This fixes race conditions when the files are
updated rapidly and saves CPU by noy polling. To build
a binary that runs on old Linux kernels without inotify,
use make COPTS=-DNO_INOTIFY
Fix breakage of --domain=<domain>,<subnet>,local - only reverse
queries were intercepted. THis appears to have been broken
since 2.69. Thanks to Josh Stone for finding the bug.
Eliminate IPv6 privacy addresses and deprecated addresses from
the answers given by --interface-name. Note that reverse queries
(ie looking for names, given addresses) are not affected.
Thanks to Michael Gorbach for the suggestion.
Fix crash in DNSSEC code with long RRs. Thanks to Marco Davids
for the bug report.
Add --ignore-address option. Ignore replies to A-record
queries which include the specified address. No error is
generated, dnsmasq simply continues to listen for another
reply. This is useful to defeat blocking strategies which
rely on quickly supplying a forged answer to a DNS
request for certain domains, before the correct answer can
arrive. Thanks to Glen Huang for the patch.
Revisit the part of DNSSEC validation which determines if an
unsigned answer is legit, or is in some part of the DNS
tree which should be signed. Dnsmasq now works from the
DNS root downward looking for the limit of signed
delegations, rather than working bottom up. This is
both more correct, and less likely to trip over broken
nameservers in the unsigned parts of the DNS tree
which don't respond well to DNSSEC queries.
Add --log-queries=extra option, which makes logs easier
to search automatically.
Add --min-cache-ttl option. I've resisted this for a long
time, on the grounds that disbelieving TTLs is never a
good idea, but I've been persuaded that there are
sometimes reasons to do it. (Step forward, GFW).
To avoid misuse, there's a hard limit on the TTL
floor of one hour. Thansk to RinSatsuki for the patch.
Cope with multiple interfaces with the same link-local
address. (IPv6 addresses are scoped, so this is allowed.)
Thanks to Cory Benfield for help with this.
Add --dhcp-hostsdir. This allows addition of new host
configurations to a running dnsmasq instance much more
cheaply than having dnsmasq re-read all its existing
configuration each time.
Don't reply to DHCPv6 SOLICIT messages if we're not
configured to do stateful DHCPv6. Thanks to Win King Wan
for the patch.
Fix broken DNSSEC validation of ECDSA signatures.
Add --dnssec-timestamp option, which provides an automatic
way to detect when the system time becomes valid after
boot on systems without an RTC, whilst allowing DNS
queries before the clock is valid so that NTP can run.
Thanks to Kevin Darbyshire-Bryant for developing this idea.
Add --tftp-no-fail option. Thanks to Stefan Tomanek for
the patch.
Fix crash caused by looking up servers.bind, CHAOS text
record, when more than about five --servers= lines are
in the dnsmasq config. This causes memory corruption
which causes a crash later. Thanks to Matt Coddington for
sterling work chasing this down.
Fix crash on receipt of certain malformed DNS requests.
Thanks to Nick Sampanis for spotting the problem.
Note that this is could allow the dnsmasq process's
memory to be read by an attacker under certain
circumstances, so it has a CVE, CVE-2015-3294
Fix crash in authoritative DNS code, if a .arpa zone
is declared as authoritative, and then a PTR query which
is not to be treated as authoritative arrived. Normally,
directly declaring .arpa zone as authoritative is not
done, so this crash wouldn't be seen. Instead the
relevant .arpa zone should be specified as a subnet
in the auth-zone declaration. Thanks to Johnny S. Lee
for the bugreport and initial patch.
Fix authoritative DNS code to correctly reply to NS
and SOA queries for .arpa zones for which we are
declared authoritative by means of a subnet in auth-zone.
Previously we provided correct answers to PTR queries
in such zones (including NS and SOA) but not direct
NS and SOA queries. Thanks to Johnny S. Lee for
pointing out the problem.
Fix logging of DHCPREPLY which should be suppressed
by quiet-dhcp6. Thanks to J. Pablo Abonia for
spotting the problem.
Try and handle net connections with broken fragmentation
that lose large UDP packets. If a server times out,
reduce the maximum UDP packet size field in the EDNS0
header to 1280 bytes. If it then answers, make that
change permanent.
Check IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses when --stop-rebind
is active. Thanks to Jordan Milne for spotting this.
Allow DHCPv4 options T1 and T2 to be set using --dhcp-option.
Thanks to Kevin Benton for patches and work on this.
Fix code for DHCPCONFIRM DHCPv6 messages to confirm addresses
in the correct subnet, even of not in dynamic address
allocation range. Thanks to Steve Hirsch for spotting
the problem.
Add AddDhcpLease and DeleteDhcpLease DBus methods. Thanks
to Nicolas Cavallari for the patch.
Allow configuration of router advertisements without the
"on-link" bit set. Thanks to Neil Jerram for the patch.
Extend --bridge-interface to DHCPv6 and router
advertisements. Thanks to Neil Jerram for the patch.

outside of e2fsprogs which did not pass the EXT2_FLAG_64BIT to crash.
- Fix a bug which would cause mke2fs to fail creating the journal if
/etc/mtab and /proc/mounts are missing.
- Updated/fixed various man page.
- Updated translations.
- Added dependency of e2fsprogs package on particular versions of libext2fs
and libcom_err to avoid problems with missing symbols
- Update to 1.42.2:
* resize2fs uses much less CPU and is much faster for very large fs.
* The seti and freei commands in debugfs can now take an optional length
argument to set and clear a contiguous range of inodes.
* E2fsck will now make explicit checks for the EOFBLOCKS_FL, since we
plan to remove support for it from the kernel file system driver.
* mke2fs can now use direct I/O via "mke2fs -D"
* E2fsck was needlessly closing and re-opening the file system as a side
effect of adding Multiple Mount Protection (MMP). This isn't
necessary for non-MMP file systems, so drop it.
* E2fsck will now abort if there are memory allocation failures when
the file system is initially opened and during the block group
descriptor checks.
* e2fsck will now report the incorrect and corrected checksum values
for incorrect block groups.
* e2fsck can now write log files containing the details of the problems
that were found and fixed directly, via configuration parameters in
/etc/e2fsck.conf.
* The number of messages reported by e2fsck for a given problem type
can be limited.
* dumpe2fs, debugfs, and tune2fs now use rbtree bitmaps, which noticably
reduces memory consumption for large file systems.
* E2fsck now checks for extents with a zero length.
* Fixed a number of bugs relating to discard.
* E2fsck's CPU utilization in pass 5 has been optimized.
* E2image will now skip copying uninitialized bitmap and inode table
blocks.
* Fixed mke2fs -S so it does not corrupt the first block group's
information.
* E2fsck will now check the new sysfs interface to determine if we are
using the battery or AC mains.
- Add up-to-date german messages

- Remove redundant tags/sections from specfile
- removed dumpe2fs-add-man-page-warning-about-mounted-fil.patch
deprecated by this release
- refreshed e2fsprogs-1.41.1-splash_support.patch
- added several patches to fix warnings generated by the check_gcc_output
and rpmlint
- update to 1.42
* this release has support for file systems >16TB. online resize
requires kernel support which will hopefully be in kernel version
3.2. offline support is not yet available for >16TB, but will be
coming
* this release has support for clustered allocation, which reduces
the number of block (now cluster) bitmaps by allocating and
deallocating space in contiguous power-of-2 collections of blocks,
which are called clustered. This is a filesystem level feature
called 'bigalloc', which must be enabled when the filesystem is
inititally formatted. It is not backwards compatible with older
kernels.
* added support for the Multi-Mount Protection (MMP) feature
* The mke2fs and e2fsck programs now tries to use the punch hole command
as a "discard" when operating on normal files.
* The resize2fs program now has support for a new online resize ioctl
that can support file systems > 16TB, once it arrives in v3.x kernels.
* Added e4defrag tool which uses the EXT4_IOC_MOVE_EXT ioctl.
* Added support for journals larger than 2GB.
* Added internationalization support for libcom_err error table strings.
* Fixed various spelling mistakes found in various output strings found by
I18N translators.
* Update translations: French, Chinese, Germany, Indonesian, Swedish,
Vietnamese, Polish, Dutch, Czech. (Addresses Debian Bugs: #520985,
[#620659])
* Updated/clarified man pages. (Addresses Debian Bugs: #639411, #642193,
[#634883])
* various bug fixes and enhancements (see RELEASE-NOTES)
- add autoconf as buildrequire to avoid implicit dependency
- Added dumpe2fs.8 manpage fix
- Fix typo in package summary
- Fix licenses in spec file to match those specified in COPYING file
- Fix the last untranslated entry in the message catalog.
- Add an updated german translation that has also been sent
upstream.
- Call 'make update-po' in po/ to sync translations and original
messages.
- Update to 1.14.14
* Many bugfixes
* Resize2fs -P will now refuse to print a minimum size if the file system
is not clean.
* 2fsck will check for cases where the EOFBLOCKS_FL is set when it is not needed,
and offer to clear it
* The mke2fs program now queries the kernel for the physical as well as the logical
sector size, and will not allow a blocksize below the logical, and will strongly
encourage a blocksize at least as big as the physical blocksize
* E2fsck now will completely skip time-based checks if the system clock looks insane or
the option broken_system_clock is set in /etc/e2fsck.conf
* E2fsck now tests for extents that begin at physical block 0 and rejects them as invalid.
* The tune2fs program can now set the uninit_bg feature without requiring an fsck
* The tune2fs, dumpe2fs, and debugfs programs now support the new ext4 default mount
options settings which were added in 2.6.35
* The resize2fs program now handles devices which are exactly 16T

- Bring german message catalog up-to-date.
- update to 1.41.11:
* E2fsck will correctly fix directories that are have an inaccurate i_size as
well as other problems in a single pass, instead of requiring two e2fsck
runs before the file system is fully fixed.
* Fix e2fsck so it will correctly find and detect duplicate directory entries
for non-indexed directories
* Mke2fs will use BLKDISCARD to pre-discard all blocks on an SSD or
thinly-provisioned storage device. This can be disabled using the -K option.
* Mke2fs now will obtain get device topology information from blkid and use it
to populate the superblock stride and stripe sizes. It will also warn if the
block device is misaligned

in wrong timezone in between (bnc#537542)
- update to 1.41.9:
"All users of e2fsprogs are urged to upgrade to the 1.41.9
version as soon as possible"
* Fix a bug in e2fsck routines for reallocating an inode table which
could cause it to loop forever on an ext4 filesystem with the FLEX_BG
filesystem feature with a relatively rare (and specific) filesystem
corruption. This fix causes e2fsck to try to find space for a new
portion of the inode table in the containing flex_bg, and if that
fails, the new portion of the inode table will be allocated in any
free space available in the filesystem.
* Make e2fsck less annoying by only asking for permission to relocate a
block group's inode table once, instead of for every overlapping
block. Similarly, only ask once to recompute the block group
checksums, instead of once for each corrupted block group's checksum.

- Adapt net-kdc-lookup patch for post-3.3 Samba versions; (bnc#295284).
==== libnfsidmap-sss ====
Subpackages: libsss_idmap0 libsss_nss_idmap0 sssd sssd-32bit sssd-krb5-common sssd-ldap
- Kill unused libsss_sudo-devel solvable.
- Obsolete/provide libsss_sudo in sssd main package.
Sudo capability is an integral feature in SSSD and the library
is not supposed to be used separately.
==== sudo ====
- No need to buildrequire an sssd plugin (libsss_sudo)
- Pass --enable-tmpfiles.d=%{_tmpfilesdir} to configure: let's be
specific about this feature, and not randomly rely on the
presence/absence of /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/systemd.conf.
- Add systemd-rpm-macros BuildRequires to ensure %_tmpfilesdir is
defined.
- Add relevant %tmpfiles_create call to post scriptlet.
==== tuned ====
Version update (2.5.0 -> 2.5.1)
- Update to 2.5.1
* plugin_scheduler: work with nohz_full (rhbz#1247184)
* fixed realtime-virtual-guest/host profiles packaged twice
(rhbz#1249028)
* fixed requirements of realtime and nfv profiles
* fixed tuned-gui not starting (boo#937647)
* various other minor fixes
==== xdm ====
- Replaced font resources for login screen with font face names.
Since xdm is now built with Xft support, it uses face names for
client side rendered fonts. The settings for screen widths >= 800
are the xdm defaults. For smaller screens the sizes are reduced
so they fit the screen better (bsc#940263).
- Avoid confusion of user: add '-' to font names in etc/X11/xdm/Xresources.
This is not required for the font names used in the file but some others.
(bsc#940263).
==== yast2-bootloader ====
Version update (3.1.140 -> 3.1.141)
- avoid bootloader module stuck caused by parted prompt
(bnc#941510)
- 3.1.141
Removed packages:
bundle-lang-common-nl
libmysqlcppconn6
libpoppler53
libsss_sudo
Added packages:

Hi,
I have two questions for which I was unable to find any reasonable
clarifications online.
My first question is: What repositories URLs do I set to start using,
and follow, Leap?
My second question is: Looking in the future, will all Tumbleweed
repos be based on Leap? In other words, will Tumbleweed repos draw
from same codebase as Leap? (except Tumbleweed would generally contain
newer versions than "Leap stable").
Thanks,
Milan

Hi,
the NTLM authentication method used by apache2-mod_auth_ntlm_winbind is
technologically-wise obsoleted.
The prefered alternative is apache2-mod_auth_kerb instead.
Kerberos offers several advantages compared to NTLM.
Therefore I suggest to remove apache2-mod_auth_ntlm_winbind from
openSUSE Factory.
The next step will be to purge it from the OBS Apache:Modules project
too.
See also https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/323683
Cheers,
Lars
