[opensuse-factory] Tw 20150418 with kernel-desktop-3.19.4-1.1.x86_64 breaks touchpad

openSUSE Tumbleweed Today's update to 20150418 with kernel-desktop-3.19.4-1.1.x86_64 refuses to recognize taps on my acer aspire iv touchpad. [opensuse-factory] Shotwell hangs after start

Hello there, Recently, I switched from openSUSE 13.2 to tumbleweed. One issue is, that Shotwell (0.22.0-107.5) does not start properly anymore. With a newly created user the start process seems to be fine until Shotwell's welcome dialog appears. In this dialog, any mouse click has no effect at all, although the elements are not disabled. Debug information for this example can be found in the attached shotwell.log and shotwell.gdb. With a user, where Shotwell had ran correctly before (upgrading from 13.2 to tumbleweed e.g.), the Shotwell window appears to be corrupted in such way, that no Shotwell window seems to appear. Nonetheless, in the GNOME-shell overview there is an empty / translucent Shotwell window and the process is running. Guess, something is wrong with drawing the window. Since I assume, that both described effects have the same cause, I have not attached log files for the second one. I have nothing found in the GNOME Bugzilla regarding this issue and since Shotwell (0.22.0-105.1) runs fine on a second computer, where openSUSE 13.2 is installed, it seems for me openSUSE related. [opensuse-factory] proposal to add libstrophe to factory

I propose adding the libstrophe xmpp library to factory. When I started to create a package for the profanity xmpp client I found this package missing. Luckily dmacvicar already created it in his home repository. He agreed that I can add it to Factory as long as I will maintain it. Which I will. I cleaned the spec up and created the request [1]. Hi! Out of the sudden my 13.2 Thinkpad refused to boot. See: http://git.infradead.org/~rw/os132_boot_fail.jpg No getty, no X11, no nothing. How can this happen? The kernel did not panic, keyboard worked but systemd refused to continue. Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, Again a very quiet week, especially also as there was Hackweek. So a lot of people were likely occupied with other thins. I actually don't have a lot of things to tell this week; of course there were a lot of minor version updates in all kind of packages, but from what I've seen there hasn't been anything huge happening. What can we expect next week? I've seen Kernel 4.0 final being submitted for staging - so we can likely expect this to arrive next week. Other than that, it mainly depends on how it moves on with the current snapshot: 20150416 is currently blocked and will not be released: there are two tests mailing with regards to multipath setup. A first suspicion is that the dracut update / changes might have caused it. That's quite a pity, as that snapshot would also contain kernel 3.19.4, which is known to address the btrfs log corruptions Ludwig informed about earlier... We surely hope to find the cause for this breakage (be it with a fix or a revert of the offending package). [opensuse-factory] Proposal mlt framework update

With the latest KDE Applications release, a lot more applications are now based on the Qt5 and KDE Frameworks 5. This also affects the dependencies of these packages as that Qt5 and Qt4 should not really be mixed for a single package (e.g. building a package for Qt5, but a needed library still links to Qt4). This is causing crashes and instabilitiy. The mlt framework is such a needed library which is currently build against Qt4, but the kdenlive package from KDE Applications is now based on Qt5. The latest version of the mlt framework is 0.9.6 and can be build against Qt5, therefore I would like to propose to upgrade the package in multimedia:libs and then for oS versions higher than 13.2, to build it against Qt5. For the older openSUSE versions, it would still be build against Qt4. Before submitting such change, I would like to validate if the change to Qt5 is fine.
