[opensuse-factory] Live CD build error

Coolo, For a number of days, the Gnome Live CD failed to build with "nothing provides" messages. These were fixed when I checked today due to updates of the package lists. The Live CD still does not build because the wanted and installed lists differ. [opensuse-factory] rpmbuild brp-compress not considering possible man locations/installation prefix

Hi, when I build private rpm files I use the prefix /usr/local to keep the files separate from the official rpms. This results that the man pages are put to /usr/local/share/man/* The MANPATH at my system points to /usr/local/man:/usr/local/share/man:/usr/share/man Some Opensuse versions ago rpmbuild started to fail with my *.spec files at the end when it checked for unpackaged files. The reason was roughly that the man files were not gzipped and did not match the created file list. As a workaround I inserted some lines in my spec files to perform the gzipping of the man pages. Now I had a deeper check and I think the problem is the file /usr/lib/rpm/brp-compress which should do the compression, but it only searches the paths ./usr/man/man* ./usr/man/*/man* ./usr/info ./usr/share/man/man* ./usr/share/man/*/man* ./usr/share/info ./usr/kerberos/man ./usr/X11R6/man/man* ./usr/lib/perl5/man/man* ./usr/share/doc/*/man/man* ./usr/lib/*/man/man* without considering the chosen installation prefix. I made a small patch in brp-compress which only includes additionally the ./usr/local/man ./usr/local/share/man 44,45c44 < ./usr/share/doc/*/man/man* ./usr/lib/*/man/man* \ < ./usr/local/share/man/* ./usr/local/man/* --- > ./usr/share/doc/*/man/man* ./usr/lib/*/man/man* and with this the workaround in the spec files is no longer needed. Is it unsupported to build rpms with prefix different from /usr ? Or is it a bug in brp-compress? [opensuse-factory] tumbleweed: xfce4-appfinder package out of date results in broken alt-f2 shortcut

[opensuse-factory] Anyone dualbooting 12.1 and 12.2?

Has anyone tried installing 12.2 beta (using grub2) in dualboot with an existing 12.1 system (using legacy grub)? If yes, does it work right out of the box? Is it seamless? (like traditionally dualbooting multiple openSUSE versions all using legacy grub). Anything I should be aware of? I'd like to test 12.2 beta on my real hardware, by installing it on my test partition. But I'm scared of being left unable to boot my 12.1 production system. [opensuse-factory] CruiseControl: contrib repo

I have let maintenence of the CruiseControl package slip. I don't think I packaged it well in any case because I wanted the tests to pass but had to patch out some of the network units so that it would build on OBS. I found it hard to pacakge the http based interface and additionally the spec file is very messy, my apologies for that but I'm not really an au fait java hacker. Having said that, I always found CruiseControl to be a very efficient, flexible and non opinionated CI tool; but sadly I find myself and my current clients migrating away from that world. To cut a long story short, I will not be spending any more time on the package and it already intermitently fails on i586. Unless anyone else has a use for CruiseControl and can bring the package up to date, it will likely fall out of our distro as contrib is phased out. The specific problem with the Live CDs was related to the change in /usr that is part of 12.2. I have no idea why no new ones have been built. Both Gnome and KDE versions build here just fine. [opensuse-factory] Broken profiling or aaa_base in Factory?

Hi! Currently kdelibs3 fails in Factory because it cannot find libmcop.so.1 during build. But this file exists in the build system in directory /opt/kde3/lib/libmcop.so.1, this can be verified by the command "ls" before the "make". Either you have deliberately broken dependencies, or there is a packaging error. You can check system consistency with "zypper verify". The gfx card drivers should be located in /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers, with 12.1 these are part of xorg-x11-driver-video.
