[opensuse-factory] cdrecord is no longer available in Tumbleweed??

Had to burn some dvd's today and k3b complained cdrecord was not available, and checking software.opensuse.org/search found it was not. Installed cdrecord-3.01a08-1.15.x86_64 from Factory and proceeded to burn the dvd's. [opensuse-factory] Nagios & Perl

Hello List, after removing assorted cruft (unmaintained packages from older systems, some going back to 10.2...) from my installation, Nagios suddenly does not find libperl.so anymore. Sorry for my ignorance, but since this library is not placed in a standard directory, what is the mechanism to make it visible to the linker? [opensuse-factory] LightDM not authorized to shut down/restart/suspend/hibernate any more

After some recent Factory changes LightDM cannot shut down/restart/suspend/hibernate any more, more specifically calling SuspendAllowed, HibernateAllowed on org.freedesktop.UPower and CanRestart, CanStop on org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.Manager from the greeter session always returns false. I also see the following message in the logs: dbus-daemon[424]: dbus[424]: [system] Rejected send message, 2 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.12" (uid=107 pid=2203 comm="/usr/sbin/lightdm-gtk-greeter ") interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" member="GetAll" error name="(unset)" requested_reply="0" destination=":1.3 " (uid=0 pid=439 comm="/usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon --no-daemon ") I've checked that ConsoleKit has the greeter session marked as local and active, so according to our default polkit privileges these actions should be allowed. Also from within an Xfce session the above actions work fine and use the same upower/ConsoleKit DBus interfaces. Fedora seems to have the same problem and their LightDM maintainers have added new PolicyKit rules (see http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/lightdm.git/tree/lightdm.rules) _unconditionally_ authorizing the lightdm user to use the above interfaces. However, in the accompanying discussion (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=872797 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=857254) they seem rather confused and the only given rationale is that this makes things work. Currently adding these workaround rules also does not have any effect on openSUSE since our PolicyKit daemon for some reason does not load this crazy javascript plugin despite libmozjs185-1_0 being installed (I see the following error in the logs: polkitd[504]: Error opening libmozjs185.so. This is not a fatal error but polkit .rules files will not be evaluated. Hello, as I can see, md5 for openSUSE-NET-Build0166-x86_64.iso is 27ff0624161f668dd382070422b1a66. http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/12.3-Milestone1/iso/openSUSE-NET-… I downloaded this image 3 times already, but every time got the same (and wrong) md5: 89b992e9a6d8556a68de03ebbac44bad. [opensuse-factory] Maintainer for X11:XOrg

Hey there, X11:XOrg looks unmaintained for two weeks now. Is Stefan Dirsch still maintaining this Repo or did he move to another position at SUSE? He always did a good job and with X11:XOrg being such a important Repo for the Desktop, somebody, maybe someone at SUSE should step up and actively maintain this! If nobody is there to do it, i would step up and take the maintainership until someone else is willing to do it! [opensuse-factory] Chromium browser has changed it's home location

Dear openSUSE users, Since this morning, the Chromium browser will no longer be maintained on the openSUSE OBS, nor will it be provided together with the openSUSE distribution. Instead the Chromium browser will be build on Packman and be available for the already supported openSUSE versions. This new version will replace the chromium-ffmpeg package that was already delivered through Packman. In the next days, I will delete the Chromium package from it's home location network:chromium and also send a delete request to openSUSE:Factory. The reason for this change is that ffmpeg support is becoming more and more integrated with the browser itself, making it very hard to remove the ffmpeg related sourcefiles and still keeping a workable browser. In the last few weeks, I tried everything to keep Chromium part of the openSUSE distribution but unfortunately I failed. And as we all know ffmpeg is one of those packages that are not allowed to be present on the openSUSE OBS. Therefore the only logical decision was to move Chromium completely to Packman. The new package will be a full enabled Chromium with build-in support for ffmpeg. The new version 25.0.1329 is already available from Packman and should be installed automatically as that it replaces the chromium-ffmpeg package. If not, please check manually in order to get the latest version from Packman. This should be a one-time manual intervention. [opensuse-factory] KDE 4.9 is now in Tumbleweed:Testing

Hi all. Thanks to Jiri for doing the heavy lifting, it looks like KDE 4.9 is almost ready to push to openSUSE:Tumbleweed. Right now it's built in openSUSE:Tumbleweed:Testing and seems to work for me, but it would be great if someone who really knows (and uses) KDE to actually test it out to verify it's all sane.
