[opensuse-factory] Unbranded splashy theme for 11.3 RC1?

Hi! I think the splashy theme for openSUSE 11.3 has missed out being branded along the openSUSE 11.3 theme concept yet. This theme is used while hibernating the computer and I notice at the moment either a black screen or a rotated Tux on a white background which I guess is some kind of upstream default. Could someone confirm this? Hi, I changed the product string from Milestone 7 to RC1 now, our testing did not find anything new in this release, so I'd would like to ship build 765 as RC1. We just need an announcement ;) We have some build failures still, but nothing we shouldn't be able to sort out in the remaining time. Hello, is it not longer possible to change the VGA Setting for console mode ? I change the setting in /etc/sysconfig/bootloader DEFAULT_VGA="0x314" and splash=verbose make a mkinitrd and change the /boot/grub/menu.lst. I have afterward the old vga setting "0x345" :(. than I change /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash SPLASH="no" make a SuSEconfig. splash is active and no change in VGA console mode? First off - thing seem to work like they did in the passed. That good. However, the new KDE4 screen that is the default is to cluttered with lime green circles on the left side to a dark color on the right side. [opensuse-factory] x86-64 dvd refuses to boot, 32bit version boots from dvd, refuses to boot after install without acpi=off HP Pavilion DV7-2230sa

I have tried Installing opensuse 11.3 m7 on HP Pavilion DV7-2230sa. Broadcom Wireless / ATi Radeon Graphics / Intel Board First I tried the x86-64bit DVD - I am greeted with a preboot menu asking me which hardprofile it should emulate two identical versions are presented, option 0 takes me to the standard dvd boot menu, option 1 freezes the system. So from Option 0 - Installation - Language and locale: English UK, Installation Source CDROM, Resolution 1024*768. System starts to boot but freezes at the point Starting UDEV. Repeated reboots always freeze at the same point. So for the 32bit DVD. Directly into the boot menu with no emulation required, Installation with English UK Language and Locale, Installation Source CDROM and Resolution 1024*768 as before. Installation progresses perfectly all packages and features installed - system prepares for first boot. System freezes at Detecting Hardware, Configuring Drivers. The only way i can get the live system to boot is to use acpi=off. I had much the same issue with opensuse 11.2 and should have reported a bug six months ago but didn't. Apologies. to make things more confusing the laptop worked first time with ubuntu 09.10. what are the boot options for the 32bit DVD installation grub menu entry? How do they compare with the same boot options in the 64bit dvd? and During installation, what options are placed into the live grub boot menu and how does this compare with the menu options on 32bit dvd? [opensuse-factory] changing langage dl lot of packages

Hello, I don't find any bugzilla entry on this subject, so I wonder if it's a bug or a feature :-(. This seems to be the same for 11.2 and 11.3 (at least very last lxde live cd, with 11.3 on the start) It's mostly the case with live cd's. live cd's don't have all langages. Specifically for my case, no french except the install part itself. When selecting french from the start (boot screen), one end up with french in YaST config, but no french package, and specially no french keyboard. 1) when going to YaST/system/langage, French is selected and there is no way to select "french keyboard" (choices are greyed). One have to select first any other (english us, for example), install then back to french Main point for this post: 2) After any language change, YaST download and install *a lot* of packages!! looks like it reinstall all the distro. Takes ages on low end computer. Hi opensuse-factory, Is there someone else except me noticing that knetworkmanager wants to access kwallet more often than necessary? It keeps asking me for my wallet password every time I reconnect to a wifi network, even when the key should be cached. Even worse, it queries the wallet password when connecting to unencrypted networks, i.e. when no key is stored at all. Oddly enough, I noticed that these obsolete requests to access kwallet occur at the time when the connection has just been established, and not when the connection is initiated. I submitted bug 612771 already a few days ago. According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution if I was using *buntu they could go in ~/.xprofile or /etc/kde4/kdm/Xsetup. M7 has no latter, and apparently doesn't bother with any existing ~/.xprofile, which I linked to a script that works when run from Konsole. According to http://forums.opensuse.org/get-help-here/laptop/417815-run-xrandr-automatic… such commands belong in /etc/init.d/boot.local. That makes no sense to me, but I tried it anyway. That too fails. No manual entry for sax2 # man sax2-tools ... No manual entry for sax2 What is this convoluted new command not found behavior - why doesn't bash just say command not found like it always did before? What is sax2-tools for?
