I added 10.3 update repository, and it takes quite some time to see the end Online Update configuration. [opensuse-factory] Beta1 on VMWare requesting host clock rate change

VMWare server 1.0.3 build-44356 running on 10.2 host,10.3 beta1 as quest. Unfortunately I haven't installed any alphas this time so I don't know if this came with beta1 or before. Konqueror 3.5.7-6 is freezing on many pages, waiting on missing images. [opensuse-factory] 10.3 Beta-1 on low-end machines?

Earlier versions of SuSE / OpenSuSE ran (albeit slowly) on low-end machines - YaST installation detecting the lack of RAM and requesting swap before continuing. Tried 10.3 Beta-1 (KDE single CD) on one such (Pentium-1, 133 MHz, 80 M RAM, 2G HDD with swap already prepared - runs OSL 10.0 at present). Install (standard and 'safe settings' tried) aborts with a kernel panic 'out of memory' shortly after 'moving into tmpfs', no attempt to ask for swap. Is this expected / intended behaviour? - in which case it might be nice to warn potential users! [opensuse-factory] First opinions on a T60... suite

Hello again When I boot 10.3 b2, openSUSE Updater runs and after alot of hd activity the "openSUSE Updater window" pops up and sayes... Error building the cache database SQL logic error or missing database Disabling Repostory 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:10.3/standard' because of the above error ... This is most likely a bug because when I run openSUSE Updater and select "Add/Remove Update Sources" I see that 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:10.3/standard' is not enabled. Note : When I select Configure I can see "Backend : ZYpp Backend " In the end I selected the option "don't refresh on startup" or something like that and openSUSE Updater no longer appears in the Main Panel but I would like to know if there are any work arounds or alternative solutions/rpm that I can play with in order to get openSUSE Updater working better ? Question: What is the best (or recommanded or offical) in a beta sort of way of keeping up to date with the lastest factory rpms? Options are smart, yast2 with extra internet sources, zypper or ? please comment on which best applies here in a factory context. [opensuse-factory] Alpha 7 and others

Hey Group; Console Yast2 and the Software Update process appears to not clear the previous /var/lib/zypp data. This was the cause of this system not finding anything new except about 10 old entries and finally a error message. I removed all of the data found in /var/lib/zypp. Leaving non DB data. Brought up Yast2 and it found hundreds of new files showing the installed versions and the one that could be updated. This took about 30 minutes - OK! I then selected various files to update (like open Office - I give up). At some point Yast2 selection check went out and states "Solving" in a GUI text box. Somehow I have become curious if it is working. There is no sign of anything. No spinning hour glass or progress bar. "top" seems to imply it is however, it has been about 1 to 2 hour and no change. Hello, I've got a problem with zypper (opensuse 10.2). Why does it say that OpenOffice_org 2.2.1-43.1 is up-to-date, when the installed version is 2.2-9.1?
