Hello, I look for a elfutils package for openSuSE10.2 because I want to use a libdwarf. However, I am not yet found it, but on fedora. So, my question is: Why isn't it in openSUSE? Hi, Sorry to all, i've not good understood the period: "and not longer part of the openSUSE distribution", :-) It's a really good news, if the 10.1 worked bad for me the only reason was only ZEN, the 10.2 is good, the updater applet in KDE works and not make a unclean system, for the direct use of YaST. [opensuse-factory] No WPA Login after upates yesterday anymore

Since the last updates from the factory tree the login into my wlan using wpa doesn t work any longer with an user login. As root the login works. I had this problems some weeks ago but after some updates it seemed to be solved. [opensuse-factory] openSUSE 10.3 alpha 3 and NVIDIA driver

Hi to all, I just wanded to ask if somebody was able to install the Nvidia driver 9755 on alpha 3. If I try, the wrong directory tree is chosen by the installer, that means that all files get copied into /usr/X11R6/lib64 and so on, instead of /usr/lib64 . I manually copy all files to the - what I think - right directories, but then I get a white screen of death with compiz. So it seems I'm doing something wrong. [opensuse-factory] linux-kernel-headers

Hello, I wonder what is the purpose of linux-kernel-headers package? It's a bit outdated in comprasion with kernel-source package. That's why it's impossible to make a kernel module for nvidia drivers or vmware. But still it has all needed headers for those packages, am I wrong? -- Regards, Nikolay Derkach

I get the following errors when trying to start "X" after an upgrade from 10.3A2 10.3A3 (file attached). 10.3 upgrade also insists on _NOT_ using my /boot partition causing boot problems as well. Ken Schneider

Running 10.3 alpha 2+. when I run smart upgrade I get this error: 874.1MB of package files are needed. 472.4kB will be freed. Confirm changes? (Y/n): y Committing transaction... Preparing... ################################## [ 0%] error: file /usr/share/YaST2/scrconf/proc_meminfo.scr conflicts between attempted installs of yast2-2.15.25-2 and yast2-storage-2.15.7-5 If I run smart, fix it tells me I have no problems to resolve. [opensuse-factory] OpenSuSE Alpha 3 on VMWare

Gentle readers, yesterday i tried an installation of OpenSuSE Alpha 3, downloaded as CDs the same day, 32 bit within a VMWare Virtual Infrastructure Server, Version 2.0.1, Build 40644. I used the predefined settings of SLES 10 1. the default setting of VMWare with LSI Logic SCSI adapter failed to detect the hard disk, the alternative BusLogic worked flawlessly, 2. the default installation with KDE was terminated by an error, which i cannot describe more detailed, because the resulting installation could not be brought up to boot properly ("repair" didn't provide a bootable installation), this was reliable reproduceable, tried 3 times, root login was impossible (no password set - which "genius" invented this "security feature" ?!?), didn't try the rescue system, 3. the vim package produced an error during installation, mentioning a skriptlet failing, 4. the "other" installation with "text" worked flawlessly, i was able to install most of the stuff (i didn't try Gnome due to space limitations) after completing the first minimal installation. I'm aware of Most Annoying Bugs (252510) and the workaround posted at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2007-03/msg00373.html The workaround was working for me on Alpha2 x86_64. Can't seem to make it work on Alpha3. Perhaps we need new instructions now that firefox is 64-bit? p.s. At some stage earlier in 10.3 Alpha there wasn't a problem. think cups 1.2.7 (???) was installed when I first had it happen, same at 1.2.10-2. The 10.2 x86_64 boxes are at cups 1.2.7-12.1.
