One can see the "enter name ..." dialog for a second, then it vanishes. On the same machine this does not happen with Xorg. There is no error or warning in the journal, i.e. for a crash. This behaviour isn't consistent with applications from the rest of the system (moving aside VLC, but the app itself runs entirely under XWayland by default...), as they run the file picker under Wayland, following the correct scaling setting. the Firefox flatpak also runs the file picker under Wayland correctly (via Portal). This behaviour also doesn't happen with the native Firefox package on TWGNOME, running the GTK file picker under Wayland with respect to scaling, so I assume this happens from the OpenSUSE KDE patches added to Firefox? Install is a fresh TWKDE install. We should try to migrate away from kmozillahelper in favor of using the builtin xdg-desktop-portal integration. For that, we need to make sure that on Plasma it uses xdg-desktop-portal instead of GTK file dialogs out of the box. Currently this needs to be done manually by setting widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker=1 widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.mime-handler=1 I'm not sure about widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.open-uri. Changing /usr/share/applications/thunderbird.desktop to .../thunderbird-esr.desktop solves the issue. Using Xorg, it works just fine. I've tried MozillaFirefox-132.0-7.1.x86_64 with TW20241028, and it doesn't work. I'm not sure whether this is relevant, since I don't know the KDE integration patches introduced with Firefox 132: Are you using kmozillahelper? So everyone who wants to help testing and has an OBS account can grab the version 132.0-7.1 (should not matter if for TW or Leap) and try again. Be warned that this is actually the very same patchlevel which broke before BUT I installed it here on my TW and I CANNOT reproduce the issue anymore. And that is where I'm lost right now because from code review I do not see a problem (maybe I miss something) but also cannot reproduce anymore.
