I want to set up a display in school regarding computers and the movies. Some of this will be static but it could involve animation or 'live' material running on a PC. I know studios use Linux networks for rendering but none of the details. I also assume that some studios will make materials available for PR purposes. If anyone has information or an entrée into a company I would be grateful. Hmm. So you want, what? A program that can do this already, or a collection of tools to do it? I attended a talk months ago now about Linux, and the subject of running video media from within OO.o (via Impress). Apparently, such things are pending. MagicPoint might be a good application to use, since that can "swallow" running instances of application into itself.
If anyone has information or an entrée into a company I would be grateful.
