Anyone really concerned about the environment, would probably look to adopt Linux thin clients because the effect of lengthening the lifespan of the terminal machines is likely to outweigh any other "marketing gestures" by a long way. The inefficiency of software is probably the biggest single cause of premature obselescence of hardware stocking landfill sites.
