We are currently implementing a public display system where web pages from our Suse/Apache server are created as an auto-refreshing circular list. Output is fed from a PC to a series of TV monitors as with many public display systems. As much of this information will be time limited, such as details of lectures, it would be useful to have this based on a database. Any suggestions for this project would be appreciated. I would recommend and be grateful if you would use http://www.melati.org/ There are many examples both in the distribution and at http://www.paneris.org/ There is a small, and slightly desperate, community of developers who have experience of developing DB backed applications using Melati and we are very keen to expand the user base. Melati has very few bugs and is a pleasure to work with. I develop using SuSe/Apache/Postgrsql. The default web admin system can be seen here: http://www.melati.org/melati/org.melati.admin.Admin/contacts/Main Melati works with most of the standard SQL databases: Postresql, MySQL, Mkoi, HSQLDB and in theory with any DB which has a jdbc compliant driver. The Show Case shows some of the projects that have been implemented using Melati. We believe that the Melati project is world class, but we are struggling to get noticed. Melati is free software. yours Tim Pizey
Tim, The download page doesn't find the correct html. Any suggestions? --- snip ---
