RE: [suse-linux-uk-schools] Suse8.2 as a mailserver
On SUSE, you'll be looking for Cyrus for your IMAP server - can't remember the POP3 solution, but searching in YaST should find something. If you want a hearts and minds winning solution, consider paying for SLOX4.1 - the school's pricing is *very* generous. However, I cannot get our PC clients to connect to either pop3 or imap - despite trying various combinations of secure/not seure ssh or whatever. Clearly this is a case of that metaphysics rule that its always harder the first time you try it and once you can convince yourself that you have made the right settings it WILL work. The trouble is that I don't have that confidence. When I do ps -A (as root) I can see smtp things but no reference to imap or pop - whch rather bothers me. -- Alan Davies Head of Computing Birkenhead School -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: suse-linux-uk-schools-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands, e-mail: suse-linux-uk-schools-help@suse.com
