I've seen a Knoppix based CD with educational software on it, but can't find the link now (will post if I do find it). Two good packages that my five & nearly-four year old like are tuxpaint and gcompris. I would guess that both are available for SuSE. Tuxpaint is a drawing package specifically aimed at young kids, and my two have no pronblem using it. GCompris is a launcher for a whole raft of educational software - reading, writing, maths, puzzles, keyboard & mouse skills. It's very actively maintained and seems to have more in it every time I look.
