Hi: Yesterday, I went over to the Parks and Recreation Rec Center at one of the city parks, and introduced myself. I indicated that I wanted to place 2 donated computers in their care, and to help them start a "Computer Club". The Plan is to put the computers in the Rec Center, and eventually build a "Computer Club" using volunteers from the local groups, e.g., Perl Users' group, LUG, etc. Anyone done anything similar, and, if so, how did it go? Suggestions? Thanks, Tom
Yes We're doing something like that on a large scale. Our organization is memebrship driven and members are required to give some many volunteer hours a month. We have several standing committees, of which one is education with a mission on getting FS into public schools. Computer Clubs are great resources, and NYLXS suppliments the clubs with man and material. Ruben On 2001.11.21 19:13:22 -0500 tom poe wrote:
